ABOUT
Engineer / Artist
Shintaro Kono
Born in 1994. Graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology.
In 2016, founded Makership Inc., a company that provides hardware design solutions for artists and businesses.
While developing a wide range of devices, I have continued to explore new relationships between machines and people.
In recent years, I have focused especially on lighting, creating original pieces that go beyond the role of mere light sources.
I regard lightings as "art within daily life"—something that interacts with emotions and space—and seek new possibilities for devices that gently illuminate the mind and cultivate peace through lights.
