About the Piece
This piece expresses the passage of time from the quiet beginning of night to its gentle end—through light.
Using a built-in GPS module, it automatically turns on at sunset wherever you are in the world.
As the night deepens, the light gradually turns off from one side, eventually shutting off completely with the sunrise.
In Japan’s Edo period, a timekeeping system called futeiji-hō was used, which was based on sunrise and sunset.
People adjusted their working and sleeping hours according to the seasons.
This piece quietly reconnects us to the rhythms of nature—something that has become harder to sense in modern life—through flickering, gentle light.

Installation
The piece can be either wall-mounted or placed directly on a surface.
For wall-mounting, you can use the holes on the back of the piece to secure it with hooks or screws.
Features & Usage
Basic Operation
- Use the dial on the side of the device to turn the power on/off and adjust brightness.
- Switch between modes using the slide switch on the back:
- Night Mode: Lights up from sunset to sunrise based on location
- Day Mode: All LEDs stay lit continuously
※When lowering the brightness, it may take a few seconds to respond.
※The flickering speed changes depending on the brightness level.
GPS Synchronization
When to Sync
- First-time use
- After moving more than 100km
How to Sync
- Turn on the power
- Press and hold the GPS button on the back for at least 3 seconds
- LEDs will begin blinking in sequence to indicate synchronization is in progress
- Synchronization completes when the blinking stops
※For successful signal reception, please perform syncing outdoors or under an open roof.
※Syncing may take up to 15 minutes.
